Frequently Asked Questions — POCA Pass

What is POCA Pass?

POCA Pass is a SaaS compliance platform designed for Jamaican law firms to streamline Know Your Customer (KYC) intake processes. It provides automated risk assessment and due diligence level determination based on Jamaica's Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) requirements.

How does POCA Pass help with compliance?

POCA Pass automates client intake with smart forms that adapt to client type (individual, corporate, listed company, non-profit). It automatically screens against FATF high-risk countries and GLC sanctions lists, calculates risk levels, and determines required due diligence — basic, additional, or enhanced CDD.

What are DNFI activities under POCA?

DNFI (Designated Non-Financial Institution) activities for lawyers include: purchasing or selling real estate, managing money, securities or other assets, managing bank or savings accounts, organizing contributions for creation or management of companies, creating or managing legal persons or arrangements such as trusts, and purchasing or selling business entities. Pure litigation or legal advice without fund movement is generally not DNFI activity.

How much does POCA Pass cost?

POCA Pass offers four subscription tiers: Foundation ($39/month for 10 tokens), Control ($99/month for 25 tokens), Authority ($179/month for 50 tokens), and Fortress ($299/month for 85 tokens). Each completed client intake uses 1 token. New accounts receive 5 free trial tokens.

What sanctions lists does POCA Pass screen against?

POCA Pass screens against the GLC Jamaica Terrorist Prevention Act (TPA) Orders, which include UN Security Council designated entities, and the FATF high-risk and increased monitoring (greylist) country lists.

How does risk assessment work?

Risk is automatically calculated based on multiple factors: Politically Exposed Person (PEP) status, non-resident status, nominee shares, government entity involvement, DNFI activity, trust monies, country risk, and sanctions matches. The system assigns Low, Medium, or High risk and determines the appropriate CDD level.
